This is the fourth post in the Amazing Number Patterns Series and a repost from from Mathematics and Multimedia, my main blog. The pattern below is a good example of a proof without words and is quite similar to the amazing number pattern of square numbers.
Do you think the number pattern will continue as the number of circles increase? Can you think of a general formula that will describe the number of circles in each figure?
